In 1968, the Trefethen family bought seven farms and created the Trefethen family vineyard around a grand but run-down 19th-century winery in the southern napa valley. At the time, fewer than 30 wineries were operating in napa valley. In keeping with the family's original vision of a classic wine estate, they never bought grapes from any other variety. Instead, they tend two sustainable vineyards in the Oak Knoll district of Napa Valley. Now, 50 years later, the third generation of its family, Lorenzo and Hailey, have helped their parents carry on the family tradition of loving the land, the people, and the craft of napa valley wine.
