Founded in 1985 by w. Clarke and Elizabeth Swanson, Swanson Vineyards is known for its national distribution of Pinot Grigio, Merlot and Alexis Cabernet Sauvignon. In addition, Swanson has long produced limited quantities of small-batch wines made from exotic varieties. Their original winery was purchased in 1986 and then renovated and expanded in 2000. Since then, they have offered limited tasting activities in the salon. Swanson Vineyards salon is modeled on the Paris salon of the mid-1800s, where many diverse and fascinating callers were treated genteelly for the liberation of sin.
