Pride Bodyboards was established in 1999 with the clear intention of elevating European bodyboarding to the forefront of the global scene for bodyboarding. By that time, the entire production was set up in a small Biarritz workshop. Pride quickly became available for purchase in the majority of French surf shops due to the boards' handmade nature. Ben Player introduced Nick Mesritz to the Pride crew in 2002. The result was a long and fruitful relationship. In 2004, Pride's founder, Imanol Arrizabalaga, and Nick made the decision to combine their respective expertise in order to begin producing from a new factory in Java, Indonesia.
