North East Model Centre opened their entryways in May 1999, they were wanting to sell for the most part model railroad stock thus they called the shop Deltic Models. They had to expand their product range right away, and by Christmas, they had a Plastic Model Kit and a Radio Control department. However, they had so much interest from people stopping by to ask if they sold various items even before they opened and were fitting the shop out. They had so much stock by 2004 that they had to add another floor to the old chapel and rename the shop ModelActive because their range went beyond trains. In 2013, they changed their name to North East Model Centre, and since then, they've grown even more. They have forever been modelers, growing up building units, taking colossal battery fueled boats to the drifting lake and scratch building railroad formats.
