The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is Australia’s oldest and most visited art museum, founded in 1861. Located in Melbourne, the NGV houses its extensive collection across two magnificent buildings: NGV International on St Kilda Road and The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia at Federation Square. NGV International is home to the gallery’s international art collection, featuring works from European, Asian, Oceanic, and American art. The NGV is also set to expand with the upcoming opening of The Fox: NGV Contemporary in 2028. This new contemporary art gallery, designed by Angelo Candalepas and Associates, will become Australia’s largest contemporary art gallery, featuring 13,000 square meters of exhibition space and a diverse range of international and local contemporary art, design, and architecture. Entry to the NGV Collection is free, although entry fees June apply to special exhibitions.
