In 1682, William Payne awarded 1,000 acres to Richard Pierce. In 1711, 50 acres of land were sold to William Morgan. Morgan built the original part of the farmhouse, including a place to prepare meals and a small bedroom upstairs. After Morgan's death, the property was sold to Joseph Amble.
