Jam Time was founded by husband-and-wife team Malcolm and Mandy Sim. Malcolm and Mandy now live in Sudbury, mass. , with their two children and two dogs, but the idea of Jam Time dates back to 2009, when they lived in Los Angeles with their children, ages 1 and 3, in the animation and theme park industries. During their time in Los Angeles, they took their children to visit many indoor recreation centers for entertainment, play and birthday parties, and always found themselves discussing what could be done better, added or changed to create a more interesting, ideal play space. After one of these conversations, they set out to develop a business plan for it, using their entertainment background to create a creative space for young children that parents and caregivers love.
