While co-founder Erick Jansen and his then-four-year-old daughter Sam were traveling through the streets of Paris, Freeloader was born. Sam was generally equipped for climbing through the city every day, except definitely she would reach a stopping point and the experience would end for the afternoon. He wanted to construct a vehicle that would enable the entire family to participate in the adventures at all times. He made the decision to create a portable, light-weight child carrier that could fold down for easy use and was surprising compact.
