In 2008, Currahee Vineyards began to consider using family farms to produce wine. The family farm at the foot of the beautiful Currahee Mountain was an apple orchard for Marvin ’s parents. By 2009, planting has begun, which will eventually lead to award-winning wines. Marvin's daughter Ashley played a big role in the beginning of all this. The first bottle of wine produced by Marvin was Sweet Cheryl, a sweet Muscardine red wine to commemorate his wife who died of cancer when he had not seen the grapes Park and winery. The next three wines to be produced also include Muscatine wines—3 mile white wines, golden autumn wines, and Kuraxi rose wines. Currahee Vineyards's product portfolio has now grown to more than 12 wines, three of which have won the INDY International Wine Competition medals-ole Blue, Blanc du Bois and 3 Mile White. They are very excited about 2017 for several reasons.
