Austin Moto Academy is passionate about motorcycles and they offer two types of motorcycle classes for you! The first is the Basic Rider class, which consists of about 3 hours of classroom learning and 10 hours of training on the motorcycle course. The course requires the ability to ride a bike and the stamina to hold a small motorcycle upright from a leaning position on a kickstand. Although this is rare some people will not be able to learn the skills to control a motorcycle in the time allowed. Also Austin Moto Academy offers an intermediate class which is for those who are already competent riders but need a permit or ticket. They recommend that you bring your own bike and gear to the class but they also have the bike and gear if needed. Riders who choose to use their own motorcycle must show proof of vehicle ownership, registration, insurance and pass a safety inspection including tire condition, controls, lights and more before the class begins.
