Apartamento Magazine, a photographer, was reared by her aunt Simone in Compiègne, France, starting when she was four years old. They lived in an isolated home with a small garden. Her infatuation with Hollywood and its celebrities would fuel vivid daydreams throughout those formative years, which would also include daily activities like picnics and family drives in the family's Deux Chevaux. In order to preserve a memory of the person who lived there and to document the home as it was left when her aunt passed away in 1999, Dominique made the decision to take pictures of the house. Apartamento Magazine book is the successor to Dominique's well-known Living Room series, which vividly captured the inner lives of the cultural elite in New York, Paris, and Berlin—three important places for the photographer. In his first-ever (yet still vast) graphic novel, New York-based artist Zebadiah Keneally has set himself the duty of retelling this narrative.
